Hello and welcome to my website and to Mater Academy Charter Middle/High School. My name is Ms. Castro and I will be your child's Reading or Learning Strategies teacher. I graduated from Florida International University with a bachelors in K-12 Special Education with an ESOL endorsement and I am also certified in English 5-9 grade.
My courses consist mostly of reading and comprehension strategies; which can be great tools in preparing your child with future exams such as the FCAT and comprehension in all of their core classes such as Math, Science, and Geography. I am looking forward to meeting my new students and parents. In order to enhance your child’s learning experience I have stocked my classroom with a plethora of books, enhanced computer programs, and exceptional class lessons. I have developed this website to make it easier for both my students and their parents.
Here you can find announcements, Mater’s school schedule, sporting events, home learning assignments, project information, class materials and more. I will be updating the website weekly and it is imperative for the success of the course that all students check the website weekly for any future assignments and important reminders.
